This from Beatles Liverpool tour guide Jackie Spencer. A ‘Penny Lane, street sign in Liverpool has been defaced, probably due to the supposed connection to slave trader James Penny.
However, research carried out by Jackie shows there is no connection between the slave trader and the Street name.
We live in worrying times.
