Paul McCartney Plays Trumpet on Benefit for Preservation Hall, New Orleans

Paul McCartney made surprise appearance on a special benefit for Preservation Hall, New Orleans – the home of Jazz – on trumpet

He played trumpet and sang on ‘When the Saints Go Marching in’. Paul’s dad Jim bought Paul a trumpet when he was in his early teens – his first musical instrument. However, he didn’t play for very long, as he saw Lonnie Donegan in concert, and swapped to guitar and vocals. The appearance last night was probably Paul’s public debut on Trumpet!
