On November 1st 1963, the Beatles began their British tour in Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. Their performance was met by the usual screams that had been happening up and down the UK all year.
The next morning, the Daily Mirror newspaper reported on the scenes at the concert – using the term ‘Beatlemania’ for the first time in print.
