International Beatleweek 2021 is still on!

As we write, there are 168 days to go before the start of International Beatleweek 2021. With so much uncertainty in the world at the moment, you may be asking the question, will the festival actually take place this year? The simple answer is a resounding yes! As organisers of the biggest gathering of Beatle fans in the world, we are fully committed to presenting what will be the 35th International Beatleweek Festival, here in Liverpool, where it all began. With the latest UK re-opening plans and the Government’s roadmap to something close to normal living, we have to take confidence that we will be able to be together this August to celebrate the greatest band in the world. We know that there will be restrictions in some countries that may mean many fans and artists may not be able to travel this year, however, the festival will take place and for those that cannot be here, we will do our very best to bring the festival to you. Many things seem to have changed over the last year and we have faced many challenges that we have had to try and overcome. A year ago, many of us had not even heard of Zoom, and yet that has become a lifeline for many people, both businesses and families alike. We have very much embraced Live Streaming, our resident musicians here at the Cavern have been performing 10 hours a day, 7 days a week from our famous stage across our social media channels. This was thanks to crucial funding from the Arts Council and has been a lifeline, not only for the musicians, but for the many people tuning in from all over the world. There has been a real sense of community. People connected through their love of music and their connection to the city that gave the world The Beatles. We will endeavour to keep our distant friends close to us with regular live streams and online content throughout the festival. So… what will the festival look like this year? We have our programme and our show themes in place and we will be aiming to follow this schedule as much as we can whilst following and adhering to any Government guidelines and safety advice and that may still be in place by the end of August. We will continue to communicate our plans with you as the situation becomes clearer and we are here to provide full customer support and answer any questions or concerns you may have in the coming months. As we say in this year’s brochure …Let it Be Liverpool, Come Together, Because, All Things Must Pass.
