- The former Majestic Ballroom is where Cilla Black auditioned for Brian Epstein
- In recent years, the venue has been used as a Chinese restaurant
- The building could be brought back to life ‘for a variety of leisure uses’
The dance hall where The Beatles performed their debut single ‘Love Me Do’ for the first time has been sold for £170,000.
The Majestic Ballroom, which is also where Cilla Black unsuccessfully auditioned for Brian Epstein, had expected to fetch £175,000 but fell slightly short of estimates.
More recently the venue has been used a Chinese restaurant, but is most famous for the influential role it played in the Liverpool and Merseyside music scene during the 1960s.
