Ringo Coins the phrase ‘Tomorrow Never Knows
February 22nd 1964 – the Beatles arrive back at London Heathrow Airport, after their amazingly successful trip to the USA.
Their arrival is bizarrely covered on the BBC by sports programme ‘Grandstand’ and it’s presenter David Coleman. Here is great footage from Grandstand. Note that Ringo says ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ at about 9 mins 45 seconds. A well used ‘Ringoism’ of course John Lennon used this phrase as a song title 2 years later.
