It was 30 years ago today :>) June 28th 1990 at the Kings Dock -Paul McCartney played his first gig in Liverpool since 1979 – and I was lucky enough to be there. The highlight was definitely a medley of John Lennon songs – Strawberry Fields Forever (In Liverpool!!!) Help! and Give Peace a Chance. Everyone sang along on Give Peace a Chance, and when Paul and the band stopped playing, the audience carried on singing! It started out with a small section, then spread like a wave over the whole audience. After a short time Paul and the band started playing it again. Paul was very moved – as was I. One of those moments that will always stay with me.
