Joe Flannery, one of the key figures at the birth of The Beatles, has died at the age of 87.
He was the Beatles’ booking manager from 1962-63 and was a lifelong friend and close confidant of Beatles manager Brian Epstein, who he had known from childhood.
Joe, who was described as the “Secret Beatle”, would continue to share his first-hand experience of the band’s formative years with fans from all over the world.
Right up until his death, he had been planning to travel to Norway to take part in a Beatles’ convention there.
His nephew, Norman Meek, said Joe died at his home in Aigburth yesterday.
