Roy Young RIP

I’m very sorry to hear of the passing of Roy Young. Roy was one of English Rock and Roll’s great piano players. He met the Beatles at the Star Club in Hamburg in 1962, and often played onstage with them. Young said he was approached by Brian Epstein to join the Beatles permanently, but couldn’t, as he had a contract with the Star Club.

Roy Young later played keyboards on David Bowie’s albums ‘Young Americans’ and ‘Low’

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Roy Young. I was lucky to meet him and hear his presentation as a guest at one of the Beatle conventions that I attended back in the ’90s/early 2000s. He had many delightful stories to tell all of us who attended and enjoyed hearing him play the piano. When did he pass? All my sympathies to his family and friends. May he RIP.
